The New Arrivals program is a special program run on the availability of grants and specialist teachers.
Many New Arrival students who arrive at mainstream schools with minimal English are supported with programs based on their individual needs in their integration into Australian schools. This may include support within the classroom, individual and/or small group work. The student's linguistic, cultural and education backgrounds are considered when creating their support program. Students are taught explicit Australian Standard English grammar in context as well as English for social and cultural understanding.
